R. MEXICO - SCRAP THAT (2011 REFIX)

"SCRAP THAT (2011 Refix)" is just what it's name suggests, a scrapped alternate take/later refix of a song originally made in 2007 for an unreleased R.MEXICO lp --STATE OF THE ART/BOZO FALZSE.

"Scrap That"'s smeared and melting funhouse dance textures are warped further by an audio-verite sampling approach, where vocal bits and bobs culled from YouTube samples (provided by a smattering of Mexico's IRL friends and enemies, spanning the course of his musical career) offer disembodied hooks and blurts as virtual frontmen and -women for the song's dense, circular rounds of granulated electronics, interwoven live/electronic percussion and honest-to-G-d non-sampled guitar/bass.

After making (and discarding) heaving piles of solo electronic music over the previous decade, "Scrap That (2011 Refix)" is the debut solo single by R.MEXICO, aka HOSS owner and producer/recording engineer Brad Hurst (Elysia Crampton, SadafShow Me the BodyEarthlyVia App).
