Surveying their output to date, Excepter’s methodological parallels with the nouveau-noise scene only account for part of their mystery. The prolifi c NYC sound unit does indeed trade in a collapsing concoction of MPC beats, electro-acoustic drone, and yes, sometimes, harsh noise. Thenceforth, a note to ye: stop fondling the genre genie and know that “The Troglodytes” is Excepter’s righteously bent party record – a monument to f(l)ailing house beats and disembodied rock stars.

The sounds on this EP were recorded live at 611 Florida Ave, Washington, DC. On this recording, Excepter is John Fell Ryan (ex-NNCK), Calder Martin (Vizusa), Caitlin Cook (Vizusa), Nathan Corbin (Lake), and Dan Hougland.
